Oru marubhoomi Kadha -Review

It is slapstick of a good order. Of course, it is not one of Priyan's best fun films like Kakkakkuyil and Chitram. But your mood will certainly lift on watching it. A chase-the-blues-away kind, you might call it.
The story seems to be a recycled version of his yesteryear blockbuster ‘Kilukkam’. The only change seems to be the location. God-fearing Madhavan Nair, an accountant in the Gulf, has a dependent family and pending property loan back home. But he never lost sleep over all the issues, till he bumps into a beauty — Meenakshi.
As the fantasy works out, their love story takes funny twists and turns. There is another girl Elian who Nair wants to help, but the feisty lady becomes an albatross around his neck. As the hero along with his sidekick and the ‘lady trouble’, undergo life’s travails on the lifeless Arabian Desert, the plot acquires a sluggish pace. Then there are elements like the mistaken identity, misjudgment, a slugfest — all again from the familiar Priyan stable.
The first half is fast paced and adjustable while the second half come out to be a usual comedy with mistaken identities and a whole lot of new characters set in a desert. A battalion of comedians like Mukesh, Innocent, Mammukoya, Suraj Venjaramude, and others make the proceedings very funny.
Mohanlal is perfect with his immense screen presence and comic delivery. Bhavana, & laxmi rai has come out with a usual performance. The Music by M.G. Sreekumar is nothing original .Some of them is of course rehashes of old melodies. But the numbers make you feel good. On the whole "Oru Marubhoomi Kadha" is an average entertainer, where you get comedy in the capsule dose.
Verdict:Timepass
