Merikundoru Kunjadu

Dileep-Shafi-Benny P Nayarambalam  delivered a blockbuster with Kalyanaraman which was released on a Christmas season during Dileep's prime time. The trio is back again with ' Marykondoru Kunjaadu ' for this Christmas to entertain the audience with another laugh riot.

Solomon(Dileep) is being knicknamed as Kunjaadu because of his coward behavior even against small children in the village. Mary(Bhavana) and Solomon and lovers right from childhood days and as expected here also heroine's father(Innocent) deny their affair due to personal reasons. With Biju Menon's entry, Solomon's life takes a turn and what follows forms the rest of movie.

The initial sequences were strictly average, but the momentum goes up when Biju Menon appears on screen. From then, it's a cracker of an entertainer filled with all the necessary ingredients, especially humor, and ends with a small suspense. Even though the movie has shades of Dileep's previous blockbusters like Chandupottu and Meesha Madhavan, Director Shafi & Co were able to keep the audience engaged for two and half hours in theaters.

Even though Dileep tasted success in Pappy Appacha & Karyasthan, his performance was not completely satisfactory but he proved the critics wrong with superb portrayal as Kunjadu Solomon here. The surprise package was Biju Menon and he was simply brilliant as tough Josetan. Bhavana looked cute even though she could not contribute much because of limited screen space. Rest of the supporting cast including Jagathy, Innocent, Salim Kumar, Vijaya Raghavan, Vinaya Prasad were adequate.

Shafi stucked to his basics and his fast paced direction did not allow the viewers to get bored at any point of time. Benny P Narayambalam comes up with a better script compared to his previous outings and his scripts for Dileep has not been a failure till now which includes Kalayanaraman, Kunji Koonan and Chandupottu. Benny Igantious's songs were strictly average and other technical aspects were just ok.

On the whole, Marykondoru Kunjaadu is a festival entertainer and will appeal to all kinds of audience since everyone loves the common factor- humor.
