‘Kancheepuarathe Kalyaanam’ is the debut venture of two former associates of Priyadashan - Fazil and Jayakrishanan. ‘Kancheepurathe Kalyaanam ' isn't a movie that begs to be over analyzed, and it wouldn't demand to one with a weakness for material and cinematic detail. This is for those who don't mind a day off to enjoy a mad comedy that tickles you.

The story begins on the backdrop of Kancheepuram. Varadaraja Mudaliar (Jagathy Sreekumar) is the big brother of Devanayaki-the owner of famous Meenakshi silks at Kancheepuram. The marriage between Menaakshi - Devanayaki's only daughter and Saravanan-Mudaliar's son, is scheduled to happen in a month's time. The big family is all set to make it a grand affair. And for that, they bring in an event management group, based in Kerala. where two friends Achuthan Kutty (suresh) and Najeeb (mukesh) who run an event management company have now turned rivals. Apparently, Najeeb elopes with Kutty's sister Aathira and starts his own event management company. Due to this, he decides to stay single for the rest of his life. Since then, both Najeeb and Aathira decide to work ways and means to ensure that Kutty gets married, who arrive at Kancheepuram to add majesty to the marriage function. The story gets richer from there on as a series of interesting events begin....

Mukesh as Najeeb simply superb in a tailor-made comic role and Suresh Gopi's Achuthan Kutty try his level best as a comedian in some parts . Muktha appear once again as the heroine to Suresh Gopi, playing the role of Meenakshi is done her part well. Jagathi as Varadaraja Mudaliar  as usual performed well.As Jagadish and Harisree Ashaokan are Managed there role well ;Suraaj Venjaaramoodu, Seenath, Surabhi, Innocnet, Rajmohan Unnithan and Ratheesh Pallat are in their regular modes.

On the technical side, Scriptwriter J.Pallaseery not demanding any freshness in script but director duo Fazil and Jayakrishanan takings make the movie worth watchable.Cinematographer Sanjeev Sgankar has succeeded in making the frames . M Jayachandaran music is good and suits the mood of the film well. There is nothing new in the plot or content but Overall kancheepurathey Kalayaanam watchable once in while without invitation

Verdict: Timepass
