Bhagavan-Review

Much has been talked of Mohanlal’s ‘Bhagawan’ and much has been expected too but reality tells a completely different story. The truth is ‘Bhagawan’ has failed to click. Debutant Director:Prasanth Mambulli  has gone haywire in handling the narration of this 17 hours attempt movie. The sad thing about the film is that there is not a single scene that appeals to the eyes.

The story is about the terrorist attack in a hospital within two hours, where home minister wife admitted for delivery. Mohanlal plays Dr. Balagopal, a gynecologist, who shows admirable composure and leadership skills when he learns that some terrorists have sneaked into his hospital and are holding the daughter of the home minister hostage. The movie is developing how Dr Balagopal handle the situation ,What irritates you is the pace at which the film moves, and that too without somewhere to arrive at. It is mostly the fans of an actor who make it to the first shows of a new release. To find such an audience booing or gaping or even snoring a few minutes from the start of the film speaks for the shoddiness  of it all.

Each actor has tried to put their best. Mohan Lal is done as usual but better to think feature two times acting like such a crap story . Villain Tamil actor is above average .Lakshmi Gopalaswamy plays Dr. Balagopal’s wife Priya, a journalist done well too. But this dead slow movie, due to its treatment, won’t entertain you and the issues discussed wont stay in your mind.

The songs are not up to the mark. Lokanathan’s average cinematography is the only saving grace of the film. Director Prasanth Mambulli is to be blamed for making such a lackluster film.It demands plenty amount of tolerance to sit through this lengthy film that goes at a snail’s pace. Better avoid it

Verdict: Avoidable
