Aagathan sees Dileep and Kamal reunite after a much forgettable outing with PachaKuthira. But the duo still fail to impress and fall short off trying to deliver a well-made thriller. Aagathan boils down to just another petty revenge saga.

Dileep(Gautham Menon) has had a forgettable past in Kashmir as a child, after his parents were killed by terrorists and sister raped. On his way to Bangalore, Gautham meets Shreya(Charmi) on the way to Banglore, cupod strikes and the two are in love. Gautham Menon is invited by Shreya's father Harendra Varma (Satyaraj) before officially announcing the wedding to everyone. The plot takes a turn from here on.

Dileep as Gautham Menon is convincing with a matured performance and his trimmed look atleast proves that he has worked towards the portrayal. Charmi wasn't all that bad, but could have emoted better.Satyaraj was just perfect as the Retired Major Harendra Nair and was easily the most impressive amidst the cast of Aagathan.

The narration could have been better, so could have been the editing. The script lets the movie down. Ajayan Vincent cinematography is commendable. Satyaraj's acting stole the limelight, while what worked best for Dileep was his trimmed body. The plot is just one of those usual flicks that end with a revenge. Watch it if you are a true Dileep fan. While the movie gets one star for the director's hard work, Aagathan earns another one for Satyaraj and Dileep's performance and yes not to forget Dileep's focus to trim himself down.

If one would have watched the tamil flick Varnajalam, you could easily relate to Aagathan's storyline.

Verdict: Family Thriller
