2Harihar Nagar -ReviewWell they are back and dont they rock....??? The 4 friends take you a few years back recreating what they had done their first outing. Time has changed their physical outlook and social lives also, but their charter still remains young. Appukuttan, Mahadevan and Govindankutty are by now leading their family life and are back to Hariharnagar to attend Thomaskutty’s wedding. The sense of nostalgia associated with Harharnagar provides one with the same feeling as of the 4 friends when they meet together after several years. These guys are decided to recreate their youthful days and trying to create problems and escaping from them. In the process they meet Maaya (Lakshmi Rai) and by their basic instincts try to impress her. These fun filled sequences lead them to some troubles and surprises that they try to overcome in the same style that they did years back. The rest of the plot revolves around twists and suspense’s that are pretty convincing and thrilling.
The four characters are well etched out by Lal and keeping their basic nature unchanged. Mahadeven still seems to be the leader as most of the decisions are taken by him. He conducts counseling classes though his family life isn’t quite successful. Appukuttan, he elites the audience with his innocent numbers and by now he is a dentist and judging by the loudest applause on his intro itself shows he is still the favorite among the four for the mass. Govindankutty has become more glamorous and is still very romantic. Thomaskutty has finally found a girl for his life and is the reason for their reunion. Jagadessh has reinvented himself as Appukuttans clearing all doubts on whether he could once again create the laugh riot. In fact he leads the laugh riot in the movie. Mukesh,Siddique and Asokan has all recreated the magic that they had created in Inharharnagar. Lakshmi Rai has done her parts well adding glamour and mystery to her character. The villain also chips in neatly with his eccentric characterization. Other characters like that of Appa Haja, Siddique’s servant all are greeted with a warm response once again reminding you the influence Inharhar nagar had on these Masses. Salimkumar comes and goes without much of significance.
Music by Alex Paul Might not impresses the first time due to the influence of the originals, but the remixed versions certainly do fit in to the sequences in 2HarharNagar. Kudos to Lal for bringing the old naughty guys back, for having kept his head cool to live up to the heavy expectations. A well written Script, with comedies which are a relief from the current slapstick trend is well narrated in the form of a hilarious suspense thriller.
In Short- its a Hilarious-Nostalgic first half, followed by a second half that unwinds twists after twists -- Dont Miss it
Verdict:Fun Unlimited
