Padmakumar had been able to create some mentionable movies in the past like ‘Ammakilikoodu’, ‘Vargam’, ‘Vasthavan’ and ‘Parunthu’. All these movies were critically acclaimed but sadly ended up as flops at the Box Office. After several unsuccessful attempts to hit the bulls eye, director Padmakumar is now teaming up with Superstar Mohanlal for a new film titled as ‘Shikaar’.Naadodigal actress Ananya will be doing the role of Mohanlal's daughter in 'Shikkar'.

In Shikkar, Mohanlal will be playing the role of a lorry driver named Balaraman, who transports commodities between cities in South India. Balaraman is a man with haunting past and he is living to complete his revenge. Scripted by S Sureshbabu, Shikkar is expected to be an Ramzan release.

Other cast includes Kalabhavan Mani, Suraj Venjarammodu, Lalu Alex and Jagathy Sreekumar. Shikkar will be picturised at locations including Kothamangalam, Idukki, Adimali, Tuticorin and Hyderabad. The Music of this movie shikkar will be by M.Jayachandran. Shajil Rajagopal will be producing Shikkar movie under the banner of Sreeraj productions.
