Mammootty bags filmfare best actor award 2009

Megastar Mammootty of Mollywood has bagged the best actor award from ‘57th Idea Filmfare Awards 2009’ for the movies 2009. Another Malayalam star Mohanlal has won ‘Special Jury award’ of the same channel & Mammootty starrer blockbuster Pazhassi Raja has been chosen as the best film. The awards were announced at a function, which was organized in chennai recently.

Director Hariharan’s Pazhassi Raja starring Mammootty bagged  seven awards include best film at the Filmfare 2009. It has been written by M.T. Vasudevan Nair.Hariharan and ONV kuruppu won the best director and best lyricist awards respectively.

After the ceremony Malayalam megastar said, “I’m on top of the world, I have entered double figures. Yes it’s my 10th Filmfare award. It feels incredible to hold the Black Lady.” “Last year, I got massive pleasure as an actor doing three very good films — Pazhassi Raja, Paleri Manikam and Loud Speaker. I would take this award as gratitude of my work in all the three films,” said a smiling Mammootty.
