The master technician who won an Oscar last year for his work in "Slumdog Millionaire" says his yearning to direct a film is not new. Sound designer Resul Pookutty will soon direct an emotional father-son story to star Mammootty & Amithababahcan.
"Five years ago, I planned a film that was almost going into production but last minute the finance didn't happen and it got canned. But it's there at the back of my mind. Some day I might make it or may be some other film," said the soft-spoken wizard.
"The film was based on the book 'Govardhan's Travels' by well-known Malayalam writer Anand. I planned to make the film in three languages - Malayalam, Hindi and English - with Mammootty as one of the main leads," he said.
"There are international projects that are coming up. I'm reading three scripts a week. There is a lot of interest in me from the rest of the world" he added.
Though the project has been thought about, the film will go on the floors next year after Pookutty finishes his current projects.
