'China Town' rules the Kerala box office

Multistar film 'China Town' rules the Kerala box office, this weekend. The top five in the list are:

1.‘ChinaTown’-  Mohanlal will have a sign of big relief as his new flick  'China Twon' has started with the typical Mohanlal opening and is registering the cash boxes tingling all through the week. The movie is said to have grossed around 8.5 crores from its first two week, one of the biggest ever collections for a Lal starrer in the opening week. The movie is expected to end up as a big hit.

2.‘Urumi’ – Prithvi’s epoch saga with director Santhosh Sivan made an impressive opening, but the total collections are not as entertaining as expected. The movie is making better business in major centers with good support from vacation audiences, but in lesser known centers collections were weak.

3‘City Of God’ - This Prithvi Raj starrer directed by lijo jos pallisseri slips down to the third position, even in its second week. The film showed good technical finesse and different narrative styles, but sadly didn’t appeal to the majority of the masses.

4.‘Christian Brothers’ - Another multi star film that turned out to be a dull proposition, the movie made great revenues from its first week. But failed to sustain it in the second week, with the collections falling down to 50 percent, mainly due to the flow of other releases .

5.Doubles- The movie which opened to decent collections in the opening weekend in all the centers now moves on with forty percent collections in urban centers.

The other movies in the theatres include Suraj’s ‘Lucky Brothers’, ‘Mohabatha’, Priyandan’'s ‘Bhakatah jangalude sradahakku’, which has completed first week.
